Pros

- Great offices - Amazing staff - Good product (always getting better) - "Flexible working" - Awesome perks - Great social culture - Externally a brand you can be proud of.

Cons

- Internally, employee engagement feels forced. - 'Work Hard' value used as an excuse for long days with ridiculous expectations (worse if you have to liaise with overseas staff). Work lumped onto already drowning staff. - "Speak Up" value is encouraged, but not endorsed. Constructive criticism or differing views ignored. - Unless you drink the cool-aide, horrible environment. - Sales focused business, favoured in spending and hiring. - Senior management care about perception rather than reality.

Reward Gateway Response

Hi, it's Kylie Green. Thanks for taking the time to share your review about your experiences at Reward Gateway. You mentioned in your pro's that we have great offices and teams. I completely agree we have amazing people who come to work everyday dedicated to delighting our customers and have a great time with our social culture. I am glad you enjoyed the perks/benefits during your time at RG. From 5 weeks annual leave, to a wellbeing allowance, one years parental leave and of course access to our own discount program. We work hard to ensure we provide a strong benefits offering to reflect our desire to support and care for our employees. We assess our benefits regularly against our 5 guiding benefits principles of fairness, choice, balance, wow and easy. Your cons list was challenging because it is very different to my experience at Reward Gateway and the feedback we regularly receive from the team. But I will do my best to address it and will share it with the other Australian leaders so we can learn from it. I am disappointed to hear that employee engagement felt forced to you. It's something that we spend significant time in our recruitment process on, as people who thrive at Reward Gateway are truly passionate about employee engagement, both within our teams and those of our clients. Work hard is certainly a core value at Reward Gateway and our people choose to work in this fast paced environment because they truly love their job, our mission to make the world a better place to work and the personal growth opportunities. You are correct, some of our team do connect globally with colleagues in our Boston, London or Plovdiv offices in the Australian morning or evening. We empower our people to balance this by taking advantage of flexible hours and work from home, so they can enjoy work- life integration. I find it difficult to relate to your comment on a horrible environment. Many of the team here talk about it being the best place they have ever worked and that has been my experience too. I am sorry this wasn't your experience and hope you are enjoying your new working environment. You mentioned that Reward Gateway is a dictatorship and recommend an external review. I agree that external reviews can add a lot of value. That's why we conducted the Best Places to Work survey this year. The Leadership team, the People team, the Australian leaders and I spent a lot of time looking at these results to work out how we can create an environment where our teams can thrive, grow and do some of the best work of their lives. The survey provided a tool for employees to live our 'speak up' value and some of the results from this years surveys for Australia are: - 96% of respondents would recommend RG as a place to work to others - 100% of respondents said taking everything into account, I would say this is a great place to work -100% of respondents said management trusted them to a great job without looking over their shoulder - 96% of respondents said people are encouraged to balance their work and their personal life. The Great Places to Work survey also highlighted areas where we could improve on diversity and inclusion, pay review process, people information, performance conversations and learning and development - to make RG an amazing place to be from. The People team have done significant work on these areas over the past six months. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Reward Gateway certainly isn't for everyone and I hope you have found an environment that you really enjoy. Thanks, Kylie

Pros

Before being acquired by EdenRed, RG was a decent company with lower than average salaries but a higher than average focus on benefits and a healthy culture of transparent communication. Doug led with empathy and respect. After he left and Nick Burns became CEO, everything went downhill fast.

Cons

- Tons of layoffs and offshoring labor to cut costs. Leadership openly talked about how roles that were cut or vacated would be left unfilled, with those remaining expected to pick up the slack. - There is almost zero pathway to progression internally. - The product vision is unclear and there is little to no innovation; product is outdated and stale. - Leadership is toxic and does not take accountability for poor decision making. - Honestly everything here was terrible other than my coworkers, who were awesome but so demoralized by the direction of the company that every day left everyone burned out and demotivated. - There's a toxic culture of being expected to put on a happy face and pretend everything is fine, lots of talk of being a family, and then being gaslit by leadership left and right. For being a company with a vision statement of "Appreciation appreciates" (which honestly, what does that even mean lol), you sure will feel not only unappreciated, you'll feel like you're completely dispensable to the company regardless of your performance. And that's because you are completely dispensable.
