Pros
Remote, flexible hours. Plenty of learning materials given to you. They get clients for you. It's your job to keep them.
Cons
Even though there's a sales team getting the work for you, being a tutor means also being a sales person. You are coaxed into constantly recommending more hours to families regardless of if they need them. Getting put with a student who doesn't put in the effort = very boring/unproductive sessions. On the contrary, hardworking students make the time fly by/give you purpose. There's a ceiling to being just an SAT/ACT tutor. Gets pretty tedious after you've mastered the problems. Ideal to learn other subject matters but company doesn't really fund self-taught time so it's on you.
