Pros

Good mix of software and renewable energy. The company was for the most part staffed by very nice and very smart people who love energy, weather, and power markets.

Cons

There can be a little bit of groupthink with so many people who have worked together for so long and have relatively little outside experience compared to other orgs. They are all smart and good at what they do but there is a resistance to new ideas and new methodologies. You have to love financial markets, derivatives, insurance etc. to really enjoy the work. Not everyone with a background in renewable energy will fit in.

Pros

- Amazing team - smart - maybe brilliant is better, passionate, nice, open, fun - Fun and Great Culture --- not the forced culture where "let's hold a cookout" and people will be happy. Totally organic based on the people that work here and how bought in they are to the company and how much people like each other. So when things like trivia night, poker tournament, bagel stand-ups, pot luck is head - people are there because they enjoy each others company. -Technology Challenges - solving hard problems and evolving solutions - opportunity to be exposed to great technology and solutions. -Great mission - working at the intersection of Renewable Energy, Big Data Analytics and Fintech. Making the world greener. -Opportunity - very young team - you have a voice and ceiling is up to you. -Leadership - very high integrity especially the CEO - he will say what his bonus is. Mottos including "empowered and accountable - what more could you want - produces results. "no surprise culture" meaning if you aren't happy or vice versa - there is dialogue. Very respectful and transparent. -Work Life Balance - results oriented - so if you can code at a ski lodge - go for it. -No Politics --- everyone really cares about the mission - no backstabbing. .

Cons

-growing pains - like any start up in growth phase - team is growing, processes evolving but very proactive and patient about these things. Makes some people uncomfortable. -compensation is competitive but not at top of market. -benefits are acceptable but not great -expectations are high but how you deliver is up to you. Results matter above anything else.
