No effort to retain long term employees. Skills and experience are not valued or rewarded. Nurses are not paid extra for learning new skills or gaining certifications.
Poor communication and workflow between different departments and floors can impede patient care
Lots of focus on growth and adding new services and facilities without any attempt to improve current equipment and infrastructure. Employee retention, pay, and benefits are sacrificed in order to compete with other companies. The focus is on growth and profitability and not what best serves our community.
The work culture and treatment of co-workers varies greatly between departments. Some managers are great to work for and create a positive environment of teamwork and collaboration. Unfortunately there are also some units and departments with very toxic work cultures. Be sure to do a shadow shift before accepting a job so you can get a feel for the work environment.
