Pros
These notes apply to a "public" based charter school authorized by their home State. These are no private schools as they use publix tax funds for operation. The medical and health benefits are about equal to public school employees and hence are extremely good, far above the average employers in terms of coverage and contribution cost. The work level, amount of weekly time required is significantly greater with public schools. In general, note it is my opinion, compared to an average new college graduate job, public school teachers are overpaid-in salary, in benefits and in "job security."
Cons
Excessive hours compared to public schools, lack of future growth opportunities for most employees, senior management usually inexperienced and unfamiliar with business and operations resulting in a negative political atmosphere.
