Avoid getting involved in admissions.. I didn't fully grasp the significance of this advice until I experienced it firsthand. My colleague's warning became clear when it was my turn to navigate the toxic environment. The new management is far from competent, particularly a leader boasting 20+ years of experience who lacks basic skills in treating employees with respect and avoiding excessive micromanagement. The pervasive micromanagement is suffocating, Quitting and seeking a healthier work-life balance seems like a wise decision in this toxic culture that prioritizes numbers over everything else.... The new leadership prioritizes numbers above all else, demanding sacrifices that extend beyond reason. It's a culture of toxicity, and I predict the impending crash of the entire admissions process due to the destructive actions of the leadership.. especially the new leader, is likely to be the catalyst for the downfall of the entire admissions department, as their focus solely on achieving numerical targets disregards the well-being of the team and the organization as a whole.
