Pros

The team from Vantage Hospitality was great, until they were bought by Red Lion. Now many of them have been eliminated.

Cons

Never before in my professional career have I seen or been victim to a company that treats their employees so poorly. Red Lion has recently completed another round of downsizing, this being at least the third time in about one year. Each time, it’s the people from the Florida office that get cut. When they eliminate your position, you are not treated with neither dignity nor respect. No human compassion, no consideration to your contribution to the company. These are truly terrible people. Having been on the inside, I have seen the high levels of incompetence in senior management. They are a pompous group, comprised almost exclusively of white males, with a false sense of reality towards the quality and integrity of their hotels. They will lie, they will deceive, and have shown preferential treatment towards some. Never again will I stay at a Red Lion or any of their brands. To all prospective employees, investors, and franchisees, beware of this group. Do your research and know with whom you are getting involved. This is not a good company. And now, as with previous reviews, someone will post a hollow review response under the title of CEO. Rather than a meaningless response, you should post a sincere apology to those whom you’ve mistreated, misled, and caused anguish for the benefit of stockholders and the executives.

I appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. First and foremost, I wanted to let you know that I personally read every single one of our reviews on Glassdoor and take each one very seriously. I am truly sorry to hear your unhappiness in how you were treated as an employee at RLH. It’s never easy eliminating positions and restructuring organizations, but unfortunately, it’s necessary for growth in some cases. I am very sorry to hear that you were disrespected during your time at the company, as this is not how I want our employees to ever feel. I will be bringing your comments up with my management team and sincerely wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Benefits are the only pro if that.

Cons

I have over 10 years of resteraunt experience, so they hired me on as a bartender, cook, and event employee. My main job was the bar, now I come from a background of mixology, and this is a dive bar at best. I was supposed to receive my employee card, so I could use the pos my second day because I only needed 1 day of training. I never receives this for 2 weeks, which meant all the tips I acquired went to a bartender who didn't execute the tasks. I lost over 400$ in tips because management couldn't do their job and make sure I was in the pos. I was told I would be tipped out and never was. This company is disorganized, and fraudulent. They will take your tips as well if the till is off, which is illegal. I threw away over 60lbs of moldy produce in a fridge that had been broken for a month when I worked in the kitchen, as well as they have a mouse infestation. I've gotten sick eating employee meals. And every employee told me not to talk to management or hr about laws being broken because they would retaliate.
