Pros

You'll make work friends, and everyone in NJ will know what vet hospital you work for. Oh, clients might give your department treats!

Cons

Maternity and paternity leave nonexistent, only a "guarantee" to not lose your job for 12 weeks, required to use all of your PTO and sick and THEN you can get 60% of your wage from NJ FMLA; fellow technician has cancer and has to email the entire hospital staff for coverage for her chemotherapy treatments; encouraged to stay in nearby hotels and sleep on cots they provide in the hospital during record-breaking snowfall where travel ban is in place; get $150 at the start of your employment for uniforms which covers 1 1/2 days of clothing for your workweek for scrubs that will not expose your hind-end when you bend over and blow holes through the knees within a year; entire hospital is consistently woefully understaffed and sends out blast emails daily to pay quadruple our wages for coverage rather than just hiring people at a livable wage; sick time alloted is one week annually and you must EARN it as according to the NJ state law minimum so my colleagues and I are regularly coming in sick; PTO goes 8 days annually until you hit 3 years (exactly to the anniversary) of employment, then you get more days in strange increments of years maxed at 21 days after 11 years of employment; some extremely intense doctors that seem to forget you give the job your all and still barely make ends meet, likely working other jobs, only to still live with your parents--most, if not ALL of my colleagues cannot afford to live alone unless they've been in the industry 10+ years AND have a partner that supports them; prices go up annually and we have to get screamed at by our clients like its our fault, knowing we will only get around a 70 cent raise as a result; the backbone of the entire hospital--our assistants--make the saddest, almost illegal wage (but we were told not to worry about them, they got a whole $1.50 raise recently), and do the most backbreaking and miserable work yet sadly don't know any better so stay at this institution for years; very little to no encouragement to level up--there are assistants that have been assistants for almost a decade, when at other hospitals and clinics you would learn nurse skills within 6 months; technology is antiquated compared to many other clinics/hospitals in terms of medical notes.

Pros

Opportunity to grow, people are pretty nice and for the most part the staff is willing to help you

Cons

The pay could be more other than that not to much.

Pros

Absolutely nothing. Biased, terrible management, HR does nothing!

Cons

Worst tech pay I’ve ever received (formerly lived in a significantly lower cost of living state and made more then) upper management is literally queen bee of the clique, biased to any type of neurodivergence, short staffed and low level employees are getting blamed for being short staffed like we hire people? The whole place is a joke and will probably close its doors soon would absolutely not recommend to anyone.
