Pros
- Most of the employees at RT are skilled, motivated and great people to work with. - CEO is driven, competent, a charismatic speaker and a great guy, although does not always respond well to criticism or contrasting opinions - The sales team does an incredible job at selling the RT7000 plants to the world - There is a genuine feeling of an 'RT family' albeit with a few bad eggs - Very diverse and inclusive workforce - A lot of responsibility if you can 'try with courage' - Flexible working hours and some benefits such as Employee Assistance Program and Cycle to Work Scheme - Management appear to be making an effort to listen to employees with the new Works Forum
Cons
- Many managers and directors are completely inexperienced and underqualified for their roles. This, combined with an egotistical mentality has lead to many terrible decisions that have delayed major projects because management would rather reinvent the wheel than listen to their engineers with years of experience - Many very competent employees have left or been fired for speaking out against these bad decisions, or their input is now completely ignored - The technical limitations of the technology are deliberately ignored by sales, and could be a ticking time bomb when certain promises are inevitably broken - Very poor training and certification. Employees tend to be 'pigeon holed' into certain roles and cannot gain experience in other areas because deadlines are too tight to allow for retraining. - Very inefficient top heavy organisation leads to under-resourced teams struggling to meet deadlines - Rapid growth has led to hiring some extremely selfish and unpleasant people which risks undermining the 'RT family' feel - Very low salary, as expected from a pre-revenue startup
