      Toxic culture and poor management overshadow remote work benefits - Human Resources Ray Advertising Employee Review

      Pros

      Fully remote work environment (likely beneficial for reducing the company's operational costs). Management forcefully encouraged employees to leave positive reviews on Glassdoor, based on my experience.

      Cons

      Excessive micromanagement with little employee autonomy. Poor leadership and lack of professional management practices. Unhealthy workplace culture, including inappropriate discussions about employees' personal lives. Inexperienced management and poor decision-making. Employees were reportedly pressured to accept salary reductions of up to 50% after probation to continue working. What I perceived as a sexually inappropriate and abusive work environment. To the best of my knowledge, the company was not legally registered in Bangladesh or the United States during my employment. I believed many of the company's positive online reviews were generated internally and did not accurately reflect employee experiences. Overall, I would not recommend the company due to concerns about its management, culture, and employment practices.

      Pros

      Working at Ray Advertising has honestly been a pretty solid experience overall. The work is structured, expectations are clear, and you’re not out here playing Sherlock Holmes trying to figure out what your job even is. The team’s supportive, and you actually get to do real accounting work (not just glorified data entry, thank God). Growth is real too - I started as an Accountant and got promoted to Accounts & Finance Officer in like 5 months, So yeah, they actually notice when you’re doing your job right. And the level of trust? Wild. Being a remote accountant means if you don’t do the work… it just doesn’t get done. No one’s babysitting you. Speaking from experience 😭 Also, I’ve got two clingy cats, a full-blown skincare obsession, AND a gaming addiction… how do you think that’s manageable without work-life balance? Exactly. If work piles up, it’s usually because you didn’t finish things on time (and I’m literally the only accountant in the Affiliate department). So yeah… time management is kinda on you. Management is super approachable too, communication is straightforward - honestly way better than a lot of places out there.

      Cons

      Like any finance role, there are busy periods (month-end is gonna be month-end no matter where you run 😭). Sometimes things get a bit fast-paced, especially when everything decides to pile up at once. But at the end of the day… work is work. You knew what you signed up for, so complaining ain’t gonna change the spreadsheet 😌📊
