Pros
None (You will swiftly learn that any benefits aren't really worth it)
Cons
Management Will work against you more than attempting to help. No support in building yourself up unless there is a immediate benefit to the company. Bringing issues to management was wildly considered to be a waste of time. On two occasions seen the person raising serious issues being named in front of the person at fault and then left to get punished. Pay At the bottom end of the scale and very difficult to gain a raise. No bonus in the entire department over 2 years. No Overtime Repeatedly pushed into position where overtime of 4-8 hours was needed and not paid for the Overtime. Limited Flexi-time Flexi-time is capped at 2 hours per month. Anything extra worked over 2 hours is lost as unpaid labour. No/very little Internal movement No real opportunities for movement (sideways or upwards) unless a previous member had quit and they needed a step in quickly. Previous attempts made by peers were swiftly made clear to not be under consideration as they would have to replace you. Aseptic/Sterility The entire facility would be shut down by a surprise micro audit. Coldroom airflow is riddled with black mold spores and pumps it out over the stock. Several times staff are drafted in for 'deep cleans' of all stock and benches using heavy cleaning agents. Stock was lifted out of old, damp, mold covered cardboard boxes and placed in new cardboard boxes without sufficient separation resulting in the new boxes getting covered in spores. Recent documentary about cross-contamination, lack of sufficient personnel protection with human samples at the Covid testing in Antrim is rather spot on. Healthcare Randox Teoranta now have healthcare as of 2019 but it should be noted that the only reason this came about was that staff in the facility wrote/signed a letter to the CEO listign out several serious concerns with the lack of healthcare for staff being a prime issue. Contract change On one occasion they sent a email to staff where by opening it, you agreed to a change to your contract without having yet read the change. Holidays You have most holidays already pre-assigned to public holidays and 2 weeks at the end of August. This leaves staff with 7 days that they can choose when to take throughout the year.
