After reading several reviews, I felt the need to bring more awareness to the critical issue of work-life balance. I truly hope the CEO sees this review because this isn’t just about complaining—it’s about the unsustainable hours that we, as salaried leaders, are being asked to work.
The current scheduling expectations have us working 2 mid-shifts, one closing shift, and two open shifts each week. This leaves us with virtually no time for appointments or family activities. On our two days off, we’re either trying to recover from the lack of sleep caused by the grueling 10-hour mid-shifts/ closing shift or catching up on basic errands. (real quick mid shifts are 10am-8pm and closing shifts are 2pm-12am or sometimes 4pm-2am) It’s exhausting, and it’s making it impossible to enjoy any semblance of a personal life.
I honestly wish we could go back to the way things were. Right now, I find myself working even harder just to keep everyone happy and the restaurant up to standard, but it’s coming at a high personal cost.
