Pros
The staff are what make and break the office. Tesco order every week delivers tea, coffee, breakfast items, free cans of pop. Which don’t in any way make up for what you’re about to read.
Cons
Buckle up, reader. You’re in for a ride.
So you’ve been successful in a broking role? Congratulations, you’ll be introduced to your manager, who will barely acknowledge your existence from minute one of you walking through the door. After completing a two day induction made up primarily of mundane videos, you will then be asked to ‘shadow’ a colleague for 3 days before being thrown into the deep end.
There is no structure within your induction, or actually, within the entirety of Radius Insurance Solutions. Instead, you’ll be greeted with colleagues who are so overworked they are experiencing extenuated mental health episodes, who will try to help you but ultimately can only give you the information they have themselves.
The entire business operates at a libellous level, yet the company seemingly are not bothered by the threat of the FCA, because no tangiable efforts are made to address the glaring issues that are in place.
More and more will be expected of you, with less and less support. And if your face doesn’t fit, you guessed it! You’ll be ostracised quicker than Usain Bolt running the hundred metres.
Management have zero insurance experience for you to tap into. Selected by an MD who also has no insurance experience, happy enough to tell you that things will change, and fill you with corporate jargon only for the same problems to occur on a daily basis. Immediate management are new to management and looking to make their mark, lacking compassion, empathy and crucially an ability to actually understand and help people be their best version.
