Pros
Coworkers are nice some of them are talented
Cons
So, the company got snagged by a venture capital outfit, and ever since, it's been on a bit of a downhill slide. People reminisce about the good old days before that happened, but I wasn't around for that.
The new CEO is not a fan of giving out raises, and it seems like IT is a bit of a mystery to them. The benefits are or etty embarrassing for a tech company, especially here in Austin. We get a lot of pep talks about the future of robo, but it doesn't feel like they're too invested in keeping our pay up with the cost of living.
They hired me, didn't mention anything about being on the road, and suddenly, I'm a "hybrid employee" whenever they need it.
If you're cool with dealing with folks who don't know a thing about IT but got hired 'cause they're cheap, then this is your spot. Managers here won't have your back, and there's no HR, so good luck protecting yourself.
Managers mostly have less than three years of IT experience, because they're buddies who helped each other out. Unless you're a total newbie looking to get your foot in the tech door, I'd say steer clear. Don't waste your talents and time here.
