Pros

You get your own lockers , work computer and cell.

Cons

This company has far too many flaws to outweigh the pros. It’s not the customers you have to worry about, it’s employees. They’re rude and tend to make the new person do the majority of the work by making them take all the walk ins. Employees sit on an uncomfortable chair all day, usually dining chairs (that are poorly made). This company has disgusting grade furniture while claiming their made out of “100 year old beams “. Did they mention it’s a veneer and inside it’s just particle boards? Alibabas website will have a lot of you’re looking on RH’s website. They token their employees who are POC just to improve their statistics. Not to mention their graph for POC … yeah the majority of Hispanics are janitors and cooks. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable in an environment. If you could get anymore uncomfortable, they search bag anytime you exit the building. As if I could fit a sofa in my purse ??? It’s absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing to get your bag searched in front of customers when all you want to do is step out to go to lunch. I won’t forget their awkward meetings every morning to basically praise the CEO. It becomes like a cult reading “values” and if you don’t know their values by heart you looked down upon. Their design consultant is nothing more than a sales rep. Their design assistant, again sales rep. On top of everything there is NO commission. Here you are selling terribly made furniture from overseas on a Sunday night that’s way over priced only to get 0% share on it. Do better RH.

Pros

One of the strongest aspects of this role is the autonomy. I’m trusted to make decisions that genuinely support the customer experience without constant approval from leadership. If I believe an exchange plus a $250 gift card is the right solution to preserve a relationship, I’m empowered to do that. That level of trust creates confidence and allows us to move quickly when issues arise. Leadership is accessible when needed, especially in escalated situations. I’ve never felt left alone to manage something beyond my scope. There is also regular voluntary overtime available, which is a plus for those looking to increase their hours. For someone transitioning from another industry, the environment feels more structured and brand-focused, which has been refreshing

Cons

The clientele can be challenging. Some customers assume that spending thousands of dollars entitles them to treat frontline employees disrespectfully, even when those employees had no involvement in the original issue. It can also be frustrating to hold a boundary with a customer, only to see it reversed after escalation. While I understand the desire to preserve relationships, it can unintentionally undermine employee confidence and consistency in standards. Because RH carries so many collections and product variations, the learning curve is steep. Customers often expect immediate, detailed product knowledge, which takes time to develop.
