No formal remuneration or performance review process. Many interesting projects end up being shut down by international executives who struggle to understand the Australian market in comparison to Europe. Internal business systems are lacking at best. Professional development pathways are unclear. Promotions do occur but positions aren’t replaced for months. The company as a whole operates on a very lean workforce, therefore employees are stressed and stretched beyond their role descriptions, with very little reward or acknowledgment of their sacrifice, resulting in high staff turnover. Management generally let good employees leave as opposed to investing in existing high performers. There are many roadblocks to success.
