Pros

A lot of highly intelligent people work at Accretive Health Accretive has the potential to be a great place to work The AH technology tool suite has excellent elements

Cons

Anyone who works at Accretive Health will tell you that the firm is polluted and the morale crushed by blatant nepotism that starts at the top with the CEO. The CEO is one of the smartest business people I have ever encountered and just being in a room with her is contagious, however, what she has chosen to do with awarding executive level jobs and stock options to her family (including sister, sister-in law, nephew, etc.) and other friends that have little to no education or background in healthcare or consulting is appalling.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
