Office has no windows.
Routinely paid late—a third of my paychecks were late during my year at Quill.
Compensation is not competitive.
Lots of ed-tech buzzwords, relatively little substance to back it up.
The CEO
- A disorganized micromanager with poor communication and time management skills.
- He frequently doesn’t show up to work until around 11 or noon, sometimes later or not at all.
- He inappropriately shared private medical information about other members of the team with me on more than one occasion.
- He does not communicate directly with the person he has a problem with, but rather talks about the problem with other members of the team, who invariably report back to the team member in question, creating a silly middle school drama type culture.
- He over promises and under delivers. (Make sure you get everything in writing.)
The CTO made jokes about my intelligence, calling me stupid and asking what was wrong with my brain.
Looks good from the outside, but definitely not your dream job.
