Pros
-Meaningful work in healthcare -There are some wonderful colleagues -Leadership roles present opportunity for challenges which equals learning and building out your resume -Some leadership roles make a fair compensation -401k match at 5% -Some, but few, roles have flexibility to work virtually -The overall benefits package is competitive depending on your geography -Some frontline jobs and frontline leadership roles can be very fulfilling with a good balance of challenge and stress
Cons
-Leaders spend time discussing who to RIF and what to cut. We are paid a high comp level to figure out who to RIF each year and then how to run the business without them before we start to discuss the next cycle of RIFs -Money hungry. $7.9B isn’t enough if you don’t hit forecast for shareholders -Leaders push to please shareholders at all costs with a lack of focus on clients and patients which takes away from the “meaningful” work -Consistently on a hiring freeze, cost constraints, travel restrictions. Consistently. -At a minimum on an annual basis the Company sets headcount targets to cut costs. They regularly RIF good, long-standing employees as a way to make their OM target. Not sporadically, regularly. -In most labs and functions the workforce is extremely unstable due to ongoing reductions even where teams are already running too lean -Cut throat. It is so stressful at the senior level and the stress has made good people behave in really terrible ways -Took away merit increases with no notice from all of management because the Company can’t afford it...reminder that this is a cash strong, billion dollar Company -And the takeaways just keep on coming
