Pros
Very laid back. Great people in general. Work is a challenge. Great pay.
Cons
Poor communication is a major problem. The development staff is a major part of the company but the management and leads do not communicate well with employees. If they have a problem with something you have done they don't tell you until it reaches a point where they want to terminate your employment. They simply expect you to notice their actions and intemperate them in the way they feel, while telling you the whole time the exact opposite because they are afraid of confrontation. They also don't give thanks for a job well done. They are also inconsistent with punishment. Some people come in at 7 or 8 and work until 5. others come in at 9 or 10 and work until 5, but when the people that show up at 8 normally show up at 9 once or twice it is a problem. for those allowed to come in at 9 every day show up at 10 or 11 it doesn't appear to be an issue. Just depends on who you are and how good of friends you are with management. Leads do not pass work over to others causing some to be without work while others are overwhelmed. The leads are great people and do a great job at development but not a great job at being leads. Benefits are horrible. They pay is GREAT, but no 401k, no retirement plan at all (owners don't believe in them). Healthcare is really expensive even though they work with like every major health provider in the country so they should have some way to negotiate better rates. limited time off, even bereavement is included with your paid time off, that starts out at 15 days total.
