Pros
Team is tight-knit and very supportive. Leadership is communicative and extremely encouraging. They work with you to meet your goals, whether you would like to stay on longer or prepare for graduate school. Work teaches you important skills in crisis management, patient-facing skills, and organizational/insurance skills. I felt deeply cared about and could not have gone on to graduate school without their help.
Cons
Like many other hospitals and large corporations, Providence is currently facing budget cuts. This has lead to restrictions on spending, and job cuts. Genetic Counseling department's head does an incredible job in communicating our work goals to fit Providence's requirements, but it was disheartening to see the negative effects of the cuts in the departments we work with.
