Pros

If you're looking to start a career or re-invent yourself Protiviti is the place to be. If however, you are looking to continue your career growth it is not the place for you. Protiviti has everything necessary to allow someone to build a solid career until you reach the Senior Manager level.

Cons

Once you achieve Senior Manager or Associate Director, you will unfortunately get a front row seat in witnessing the backstabbing, indecision, and confusion that is Protiviti's executive and MD leadership team(s). They have over diversified themselves to the point of complete confusion. If you need proof, look at the confusion associated with how they align themselves internally. They restructured 2 years ago and no one knew what it meant, they did it again last year by renaming all their services and no one knew who they reported to, now they are doing it again. That much change, leads me to think Protiviti no longer knows who they are, or what they want to be....this has resulted in MD's blazing their own trails, and operating individually. In my opinion, this is why they are experiencing success in pockets, and not across an entire service offering, they are in effect....not operating as a team, but as a series of small practices associated by name only.

Pros

Compared to other consulting firms, the flexibility in the management here has been amazing. In my experience, teams do whatever they can to get the job done but also acknowledge that we have lives outside of work and are accommodating to that.

Cons

Pay is not competitive compared to other consulting firms and leadership is not as innovative as they could be.
