Pros
Imagine being dropped into a California canyon fire with a shovel, you will learn whatever technology or business function you are trying to save fast. It will mostly be as old as the dry dead brush found on the California canyons. You may even become an expert overnight. You will learn quickly how to work under fire and pressure. The friendships you will make will be lasting if you survive. And you will learn to do it with an ever decreasing budget and shorter timelines. You learn how to tolerate failure and savor the few personal successes only you can appreciate.
Cons
The company is mirer by old school management and ideas. They believe they can mimic the success of other companies by reading CEO biographies then recklessly injecting philosophies that they are to insulated to really appreciate. But if i had to peg the one reason not to work there it would be how little they vaule the contribution of IT, infrastructure especially but also development. This is a company that can only survive on the network, and like so many they can't realize their full potential without acknowledging the inherent necessity and value of modern technology and therefore neither will you.
