Pros
The best part only is that there are many talented customers and curious customers wanting to jam out in the store. Very relaxed environment. Commissions were nice. But that’s it.
Cons
Micromanaging was far the worst. When I was still on lunch break, they would tell me to do something before eating or they will rush you to eat. Or suggesting something more efficient will make you insubordinate. Having to “up-sale” customers by pushing them to buy more things when they don’t want it. And if sales were poor and out of your control, you will be in trouble for that. Management will force you to do other tasks that does not involve your job. I recall I had to teach a student guitar lessons when I clearly did not specialized in that and did not sign up to teach music at all. Manager has a “customer is always right” mentality which means you will not be protected by them even if you are in the right. Extremely high turnover rate. Management will message you at night just to do a task when your shift hasn’t even started yet.
