Pros

Props: 1. Quick career progression - unfortunately due to high turnover 2. Free food, decent amount of holidays 3. Nice coworkers, mostly lovely teams 4. Diversity of team

Cons

Cons: 1. Unhealthy work life balance, always under a call, you have to use your personal phone to be part of whatsapp groups talking about targets and issues after work, holidays can not be taken peacefully as always something is happening in the shop. You are bot paid for extra hours which are mostly to cover to meet labour targets and your quarterly bonuses are not covering this. Sometimes hourly rates are lower than Team Members 2. Unhealthy profit and labour targets causing extreme stress for team, turnover. There is no negotiation on it. Company became ruthless after covid. Labour allowance dropped around 20% where there is more and more remsoabilities added, audits and duties, not mentioning coffee subscription 3. As long as you achieve and bring money your bosses will not bother you. You can not stand up for you team, you are put on performance if you not meet targets which most of the managers leave Prets as they can not cope with stress, your length of service doesn’t count.

Pros

My experience working at Pret A Manger as a Team Leader was extremely stressful. During the hiring process, I was told I would have at least one weekend day off, but that promise was not kept. The workload was overwhelming. The company frequently operated while short-staffed, and there was constant pressure to work double shifts. The pay did not reflect the level of responsibility expected of a Team Leader. Another issue was the work culture. If you called out sick or needed time off, there was often pressure to come in, even on your scheduled days off. I also did not enjoy the location where I worked, and I did not feel that the company valued or respected its employees.

Cons

You get free food the only good part of working here.
