Pros
Potomac's greatest assets are its' people. Working at Potomac gives you access to some of the most brilliant people I have ever met. My co-workers (from associate to President) are always willing to help, regardless of their other deadlines. This leads to a great culture. If you are lucky enough to be extended an offer, get ready to be on your A-game. Management sets the bar high with their expectations of personal accountability and client deliverables. If you personally invest in your work and consider the Potomac name your own, you will succeed. For a consulting firm, we arguably have the best work / life balance. Very limited travel at lower levels. Travel has the potential to increase as you move up. We are a lean firm with consistent recurring work from previous clients, so you will be busy. That said, as an associate or consultant, you will most likely be engaged in projects across all of our service lines. All of Potomac's engagements revolve specifically around Healthcare Compliance. Potomac has monthly happy hours at local bars, work from home opportunities, matching 401K, metro accessible location, and most importantly opportunities for everyone to prove their value. Upward mobility is apparent as the firm loves to promote from within.
Cons
Passive observers or people who are just looking to be told exactly what to do might struggle. You will need to be able to think for yourself as well as back up your thought process when challenged. You also need to be confident in speaking to management on a regular basis to communicate personal bandwidth in order to be successful. Communication is essential for smaller firms.
