Pros

Having worked at Positive for a while now, it's good to see that the change in management and ownership last year is making a positive difference. Investment in a Head of People and Group FD, some people changes and real connection to sister agencies across the Candid platform both in the UK and Netherlands has brought more structure to the agency. A tight knit bunch of people across the agency, from creative to design, performance marketing to account management, have settled into more effective ways to plan, deliver and communicate. A supportive culture is being built by the management team with middle managers being empowered to suggest and embed best practise whether that be briefing or sharing the latest insights. The new offices in Richmond and Holborn means people come in more to collaborate, and also go out after work which makes it more fun. There is an interesting client mix and are increasingly living up to the ethos of 'the Power of the Collective'. There's always more to do but with some strong people pillars in the agency, when it works, it really does work and clients value what Positive brings to them.

Cons

It's a company with ambition and sometimes there's a tendency to run before they can walk. Under pressure, some people forget to stop and take stock to ensure they get it right first time. The new structure is designed to help this.

Pros

Some great clients and exciting projects. Beer Friday and summer BBQs are fun.

Cons

Different management styles can make reporting to different people frustrating as often you can get stuck in the middle.

Pros

It's got potential (hence 2 star rating) and a fresh new leader who can appoint someone to lead the marketing and strategy as well as winning some new business will be a great change in momentum.

Cons

The performance marketing department has been in turmoil over the past 18 months and has turned into such a bad place to work, the churn in this department has been brutal, and some very talented staff left annoying many clients. This is all due to a recent (last year) senior chief strategy appointment who has terrible people management experience as well as very little technical experience, barely speaks to any of the team members they're meant to be leading and managing, has completely distanced themselves from any client work, blames everyone else for any failings and is only focused on developing their own career within the organisation and the parent company. There needs to be a fresh change in leadership at this company as it's very much a "who you know" culture and people get promoted to senior positions because of this despite only being 'talkers' and not doing any tangible work. It's noticeable HR and other senior staff have to go along with the long standing CEO's appointments and don't want to risk opposing them.
