Pros
With the exception of a few people at the very top, PAI is staffed by wonderful and committed advocates who are passionate about making a difference. The civil society organizations that the organization supports are wonderful and supporting them is meaningful.
Cons
PAI's CEO Nabeeha Kazi Hutchins is a malignant narcissist who has singlehandedly managed to destroy what was once a great organization. New staff are immediately treated like darlings and love-bombed -- but anyone who has their own opinions or tries to gently offer alternative ideas to hers for anything is later treated like crap. She's mean-spirited -- especially to junior staff (I've seen her throw people who were relationship managers thrown out of meetings because 'they didn't belong there') -- and regularly talks crap behind the backs (and sometimes to the faces) of nearly everyone. There has also been dereliction of duty on the financial front -- funders are running from funding the org due to her poor leadership and there have been massive layoffs. I doubt the organization will still be around a year from now. Very few people are left. It's a sad and demoralizing place to be.
