Pros
- Everyone's really motivated to do their best work because we care about creators and we trust each other, and I think that's why we're able to ship so much and so often
- There's always work to be done, but we care about prioritizing work life balance and everyone I've worked with is supportive and collaborative.
- I feel supported by my manager and that expectations are clear, or as clear as they can be in a start-up environment
- We truly care about each other as people, not just employees/coworkers
- We're fully remote and around the world, so there's an autonomy in making your own hours or having flexibility in your day as long as you can achieve results and keep the team moving forward
Cons
- The company's going through some growing pains right now where processes around communication and planning are breaking down because we're bigger now, which can make things confusing/disorganized, but this is normal at this stage of the company. We've been making improvements and I think it will get better over time
- Things move so fast that sometimes it's hard to find time to step back, reflect, and refocus on the "bigger picture" of why we're doing what we're doing in our day to day (related to point 1)
- We're a small team so despite all the stuff we can do and have done, we still can't meet all the needs of creators at the speed that we would like.
- Might be a con for some and pro for others: it's a start-up and so you can make a big impact really quickly, but that also means there isn't that much structure to do so and you have to go find those opportunities and people might not exactly know how. But I've found it helpful talking to my manager through ideas
