Pros
Many opportunities to better your position and the department with support from local and national teams. Never micro managed but always have support and guidance when needed. Many times this was slow going, as busy as everyone was, but you never felt ignored nor alone. Medical benefits were reduced a bit in 2020 but still above industry standards. Matching 401K up to a certain percentage and good paid time off. Great staff to work along side, especially the customer service supervisor and factory manager. opportunity to assist many customers and homeowners out in the field, directly or through our great local and regional Field Service Techs. Good product sold and supported by this manufacture with a great extended warranty that keeps everyone working into welcomed overtime. Working at offices at the actual plant gives valuable product insight, as well as ability to work with production and engineers to solve challenges. Local and national opportunities to advance and/or relocate.
Cons
Like most robust warranty support, there are cases when customers or other in the chain can never be pleased, no matter how much you give. Also, there are many (very many) cases where it's a variable outside the actual manufactured product that is causing a failure that appears to be the product. Attempting to prove and convince is very difficult to impossible at time. Lastly, since there is so much work available, it can be easy to take on those extra hours and even weekend work. Home life eventually suffers so you must find the balance and work with your team to make sure this balance is found.
