Pros

Monday-Friday schedule. Breakfast on Friday. Close Knit working environment. Decent starting salary. Some great employees with a ton of knowledge to learn from.

Cons

Management is opposed to progressing toward the future. Most of the staff (about 20 people) have been there for 20+ years so there’s no room for advancement until someone retires and even then, there’s no guarantee that you will get promoted. Mediocrity is welcomed. Have an idea on how to improve a process or make employees happier? Keep it to yourself. Management will ask for ideas but that’s just to make you think they care or to keep you busy. The President gets in his own way by not taking employee ideas seriously and the tone of the company is “Well, it’s his company so that’s just the way it has to be”. Customers orders can be delayed due to poor planning or refusal to purchase materials in a timely fashion. 40+ year old company that struggles to move forward with the times. Content with doing things the way they always have. Arguments between employees happen in the middle of the office and management just closes their door to avoid dealing with confrontation.

Plustar Response
6y
Plustar’s work force is a great mix of veterans, those mid-career and new faces. We’re always looking to put people in the right roles that give them the opportunity for growth. Much of our team started in one role and advanced into another as they grew at Plustar. In the past 18 months, Plustar has made significant investments into our technology infrastructure including new backend and frontend IT systems. Additionally, in Spring of 2019 we expanded our Production Department, and purchased new, state-of-the-art, converting equipment. We couldn’t have done it without the insight and vision of our employees and team members.

Pros

I have done several jobs at Plustar including Sales, Operations, and Quality. I felt extremely supported in every role. The training is very helpful and ongoing and management is accessible. If you do a good job, you will be appreciated and rewarded, which is important to me. The office tries hard to make work fun through different team building activities.

Cons

The world of tape is a lot more complex than I could have ever imagined and it is a lot to learn at first.

Pros

Plustar has done an outstanding job of creating a welcoming and supportive environment for new team members. From day one, the training process has been incredibly well structured, with lots of guidance and reassurance. Everyone, from management to team members, has been approachable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed. It’s clear that the company values its people and works hard to make sure new employees feel safe, comfortable, and confident in their roles.

Cons

I haven’t encountered any real cons so far. Everything has been smooth, and the training process has exceeded my expectations. Since I’m still new, I can’t speak to the long term experience yet, but the first impression has been overwhelmingly positive.
