Pros

Snacks, drinks, team building events, gym in building, some good people dispersed in various groups who are very helpful and friendly, diverse at staff level, flexibility to work from home, random happy hours either in office or off-site, product was regularly fine-tuned or had gone through major revamps and was constantly tested for bugs. Engineering and services/support teams work around the clock and pushed hard to close out tickets despite being short on staff. The good ones work effectively across functions, have strong work ethic, are dependable, communicate timely, are present, roll up their sleeves/provide sound advice, and will work with you, provide support as long as you're willing to help yourself also. Benefits are pretty standard (health, dental, vision). May not be a pro for everyone but drink culture is quite present. However, people are respectful of those who don’t drink

Cons

10 year+ old company, in start-up environment in over-saturated market, high turnover in executive staff, inexperienced people or those without the background in the area they were hired for, in leadership roles particularly in HR and Marketing because of past connections, and the rest of the organization suffers as a result of it No 401K match, no stock options. Pays under market. Short on resources. Those with strong work ethic are stretched thin and taken advantage of with no work life balance No formal performance review process and sudden terminations are common practice for years with no transition process. Politics larger than people. If you weren’t liked by new management, you were gone. Regardless of whether you were good at your job or not. Boys club environment. Lacks transparency and will lead you to believe one thing when they're working against you behind the scenes or threaten your job security if you disagree or stand up for yourself because they were crossing boundaries or using abusive threatening language because you were trying to do what’s right Nearly every week toxic conflicts ensued between different departments and amongst teams with a majority left unresolved/no consequences. High performers already working long hours throughout the company were constantly asked/pressured to do the job/tasks of those responsible for the tasks because the individuals responsible for the tasks are incapable, lazy, or lack the intelligence to do/learn it themselves. Otherwise, will be seen as not being a team player when already working 40-70 hours per week, seen as unfriendly/uncooperative/not doing enough. Toots diversity but senior leadership in US office is predominantly white except Engineering. At 2020 off-site, there were obscenely drunk people. An executive and marketing lead were seen slapping each other across the face as a game, people were on tables, etc. In 2019 and 2020 there were complaints of sexual harassment

Pros

Planful is a great place to work and challenge yourself and grow your career. It's a culture that values high ownership, and rewards impactful behavior that drives results. You'll work with a lot of compassionate, smart and collaborative people who care a lot about our work and the finance and accounting people we help serve. Another standout aspect of Planful is the access and exposure to executive leadership, You'll be able to learn directly from ELT and collaborate with them directly. They are not gatekept and are eager to jump into the weeds with employees to problem-solve and move the business forward.

Cons

No company is perfect but the difference between Planful and most other companies is leadership cares deeply about feedback and actioning on it in a timely matter.

Pros

Having been in the Planful ecosystem for several years, I have seen the company transition through a few different phases. What I can say without hesitation, is there are many high quality individuals that work here, and the culture has always been very strong. I personally feel I've gained a sense of accomplishment, that my job matters and the ability to do my job has never been diminished or jeopardized by a lack of support or resources. Further, the software truly helps customers do their job better.

Cons

Every company goes through ebbs and flows, peaks and valleys, and I think Planful is no different. The company is going through a transition period and I think that can be difficult for some employees to handle; especially those who are newer to the company and don't have the historical context around how and why changes need to be made. Leadership turnover, reductions in force and shifting investments into different areas of the business can cause friction and upheaval, but I believe it can be likened to "ripping off the band-aid." Sometimes, it has to be done and there is short-term pain associated with sudden change. Good or bad, it doesn't necessarily mean that wounds don't heal.
