Pros
Pixel has a friendly, non-formal culture. They strive to get better and grow both company and its employees. Work is fun - might not be a game dev dream job, but it is comfortable, and you can find some really amazing, kind people there. Work life balance is generally encouraged and I didn't notice people being shamed for it at all. Crunch can happen, but depending on the team, there's mostly will to avoid it if possible. There is an effort for honesty and transparency with numbers and inner happening at the company. The pay and benefits are overall great.
Cons
I had amazing two years at the company, however, the closure of czech branch of Pixel was incredibly dishonest, chaotic and unprofessional. While employees have been praised and received consistently good feedback, the branch was closed, most likely due to financial struggles of upkeeping the branch, mostly offices. This unfortunately wasn't properly communicated to the team. Narrative and reasoning changed multiple times - additionally, there wasn't much will from the management to look for other options (like cheaper offices, temporary work from home etc). Based on my previous experiences with the company, I personally expected more of a conversation and care shown towards the team. To be fair, everyone from czech team was offered relocation to main offices in slovakia - but would you want to relocate to another country, when the word of management changes without offering explanation, all the while claiming to have an honest work culture? Adding salt to injury, severance wasn't properly communicated and exit paperwork was a bit of a chaos. I used to have so much trust in the company, but the last bits of communication felt like I had to CMA all the time, at every step. One positive thing in all of this was the exit interview with compassionate people partner. I hope it will help move company in better direction, and things like this will not happen to others.
