Pros

The opportunity to meet and work with lovely clients as well as lovely Psychotherapist colleagues and centre admin.

Cons

Constant conveyor belt, focus on numbers / waiting lists etc. Little/no focus on staff wellbeing. Little value for therapists or the actual work on the ground, predominant focus is on marketing and fundraising. You probably work harder or more intensely than the public health system yet you get none or little of the benefits. Shifts are 5 hours long, 4 back to back client sessions with 45 minutes of admin and 15 minute lunch break. Revolving door of therapists starting and leaving, little support or discussion about therapist burnout. Therapists are generally left to their own devices.

Pros

Good culture so far, promote employee development, good line management, felt valued when came up against problems, shift flexibility, great collegial network

Cons

Pay isn’t great, night shifts are hard and rolling shift pattern means therapist is find consistent alternative private work challenging. Don’t really know top tier management, very much cocooned within a team.
