Team members consistently set aside personal ego to collaborate effectively, maintaining a strong focus on delivering high-quality work while constructively challenging one another and our clients to achieve excellence.

Cons

Leadership decisions increasingly prioritize short-term profitability over employee well-being and long-term organizational health. In pursuit of cost savings, several Vice President and Director-level leaders who were strong advocates for people and culture have been eliminated. The agency’s current strategic direction appears heavily focused on promoting AI-driven offerings, with significant pressure placed on teams to sell these solutions. However, there is a lack of clarity around the specific problems AI is intended to solve or the concrete offerings being delivered. This ambiguity has contributed to ongoing instability within the sales organization and challenges in retaining experienced sales talent. Additionally, leadership actions suggest a greater emphasis on appearing profitable rather than investing in employees. Recent compensation and structural changes across teams have led to the loss of experienced and high-performing talent.

Pros

Phase2 has a strong leadership team with a clear vision for the company, about which they communicate authentically and transparently. They really care about each individual employee and they treat each person with warmth and respect. I felt like a valued member of a team every day, and I was never treated like a cog in a wheel like many other agencies unfortunately do. Even with a lot of levels of hierarchy, every leader all the way up the chain kept an open door for thoughts, ideas, and feedback from anyone at any level of the company. Phase2 is always looking to do the right thing, and they don't play mind games with employees or with clients. They also have a fantastic employee culture that really prioritizes real human relationships. Phase2 also put serious effort into easing the biggest pain points of working in an agency environment, including time tracking, utilization and billability, context-switching across multiple projects, work/life balance, managing client expectations when dealing with short timelines and small budgets, etc. They really cared about retaining good talent and making Phase2 a fantastic place to work.

Cons

They made a strategic pivot in the Spring to focus specifically on health & wellness clientele, which ruffled some feathers since these types of projects were widely considered the most challenging to work on. In addition, the pivot felt like it was executed too quickly because the sales cycles within the healthcare industry are much longer than others, which resulted in a substantial slow-down in business and ultimately a round of unexpected layoffs.
