Pros
Great example of what a career shouldn't look like! But also good introduction to the medical/pharmaceutical regulatory industry. Nice offices to create smoke and distract from toxic underlying culture created by management.
Cons
Open plan office does not create a safe space for teams to interact and individuals constantly feel monitored in addition to disruptive loud and obnoxious corporate calls. Reminiscent of school exam conditions. Managers demand that employees WFH keep cameras on at all times during meetings in order to monitor their attention. Trickle-down bullying from management through team leaders using "carrot and stick" fake motivational approach. Favouritism shown to naive employees who suck up to management, creating a rat-race environment. Ingenuine job titles describing reviewers as potential "medical writers" to attract a pool of candidates seeking actual content-generating roles only to carry out mundane referencing tasks after the promise of industry equivalent pay that never comes. Fraudulent copy approval processes. Efforts to employ diverse employees to check all the boxes are in vain due to cultural ignorance/insensitivity/outdated approaches of management. Persistent inflammatory comments that are racially/homophobic/ethnically/generationally driven and triggering under the guise of indifference or ignorance. No bonuses awarded to employees despite continued acquisition of new business clients and exponentially increasing workloads, often to the detriment of the quality of service delivered. This is in addition to low renumeration and the bare government minimum annual leave.
