Pros
Seeing dogs in the shift, access to more product knowledge, able to be flexible if you're a casual
Cons
When you work at petbarn there are monthly incentives that are terribly inaccurate, random and for such little reward ($40 gift cards to coles/woolies). They incentivise products that aren't even "good" for dogs and that I would not recommend. Your area manager only pushes you to sell these items because if their store gets a better score than others then they get a massive bonus. So you're essentially recommending products and getting told off if you don't sell it for someone else's benefit. None of the incentives is actually focused on your passion for nutrition/the animals and your own career. Secondly, I have never had a job that is so poorly managed, in such a toxic environment and does not back up its team/staff whatsoever. The website is shocking, the customer service is terrible, the system that they use for click and collect/same day deliveries is so outdated and horrible to use. Everything is done via paper (meaning nothing is modernised, online, easy to use, not wasteful). I highly highly do not recommend working here. For the amount of stress and poor management, it is so not worth being paid the minimum possible wage. I wish I looked at this website before working here.
