Pros
A great place to make life-long friends, plus a flexible (ish) work environment
Cons
Unfortunately Perkbox is one of those companies that sucks you in with it's vibrant and welcoming facade, but in reality has no idea how to treat it's staff fairly or professionally. When working in a start-up/young business you should expect to adapt to change, but Perkbox really takes this to another level and the frequent change, passing teams from pilar to post, adjusting strategy, and ill-thought-through methods and company objectives really shows Perkbox for what it is. There's little respect in the company for senior management, and they in return have no respect for their workforce. Staff members are fired left right and centre and their departure is swept under the carpet as though they never even existed. No one feels safe here, and nor should they, even if you play a significant role and have made outstanding contributions to the company/won team awards/hit your targets. As soon as you put one foot wrong, you're gone, and they won't try to resolve this with you or help you learn before doing so. The business talks about how there's room for every individual to grow but sadly you'll never end up reaching your full potential, and that's because the teams are led by those considered friends of management and not by people who actually know what they're doing. "Perkbox is a family", but only for those who have been here from the beginning. Those people are now in powerful positions and the way they communicate with everyone else is nothing short of bullying. As far as company benefits go, if you're interested in 10% off your high-street shopping and nothing else, then it's the place for you. If, however, you'd rather have attractive pension contributions, a desirable maternity/paternity policy, health care, and a good work life balance, and would like to leave the office each day feeling fulfilled, then please don't touch this place with a barge pole.
