Pros
Wonderful coworkers, incredible benefits, amazing on-site week, flexible hours, fun work.
Cons
I had to work remotely because I was not in Madison, but I would have loved to work at the office in person.
Pros
I can honestly say that 99% of the people who work at PerBlue are genuinely amazing people. There's a real sense of community, tons of fun banter, and everyone tries to lift each other up. The benefits were pretty solid for a smaller company, with perks like a home office reimbursement, partial lunch stipend, and seasonal perks like weekly summer adventure reimbursements. There's a two week holiday break every year around Christmas and New Years, which is awesome. Vacation time is also generous. The regular on-site meetups were always an amazing time, and PerBlue spares no expense in making sure everyone has a fun time together.
Cons
In my experience, the CEO does not demonstrate trust in his employees, and does not seem to make an effort to understand his employees or their roles. I found that my well-reasoned decisions were often overruled, in ways that created more work for me and the company. My decisions were questioned by someone who has no understanding of my role or the context around the decisions. Additionally, I found there to be a lack of empathy in leadership at PerBlue. With one senior leader, my regularly scheduled meetings were often canceled or rescheduled, last minute, and sometimes after I had already been ghosted in the meeting. This became a pattern that began to deeply affect my mental health. When I finally brought up my concerns, my perspective was questioned and feelings minimized. This mirrored other situations I experienced at PerBlue, where I was expected to adjust my own perspective in situations where I was negatively impacted. PerBlue does not do regular cost of living adjustments, and the interval between raises is inconsistent. I found that my opportunities for growth were fairly limited. While I believe PerBlue tries to be extremely transparent about the company roadmap and performance of the products, I felt at times like things were communicated in a way that left room for misinterpretation of the true situation.
