Pros

Nice facilities, decent benefits, good work area.

Cons

If you’re young (less than 30) the company is interested in you. Respect shown to older employees, appreciation for experience and knowledge is not valued to the point of being discriminatory. Pay is low, training is basically non existent . They cut pay plans whenever business is good, no sense of reward in good times even after some business slumps. Advancement is based on your age, who you know, and how cheap they can get you. There is NO work life balance. Regional and Area VPs don’t talk to you unless to criticize. We used to hear about Roger Penske caring about his ‘Human Capital’. Recently he sold some of our dealerships, the communication to and the care shown to his employees was very poor. We were ‘Capital’ all right, something to be traded with no thought about us. It wasn’t the sale, that’s business, it was the method. He should be ashamed. I send to be honeored to work for PAG, now I’m glad we’ll have a new owner that we hear good things about. Mr Penske is in his 80’s maybe he his building his legacy in other directions , this Company is no where near what it was 5-10 years ago. We are NO better than the other public companies. Don’t buy into the Penske brand, it’s a marketing ploy with no substance. We’ve been Best 100 dealerships. We got there because of teamwork, local management and the extra paid day off, not because of what Penske offers.

Pros

Dedicated to ensuring your individual growth within the company

Cons

Each branch is ran differently meaning management may excel at one location, giving you more exposure for growth. While other locations it is more difficult to work out of and earn promotions.
