Pros
- Great coworkers
- Full remote
- Simple business model
The best part about Peerspace is the people, even if I don't agree with business decisions, as will be mention in the cons section. Despite my criticisms, I believe good people made and work at Peerspace.
Cons
- Volatile market = volatile staff
- Dishonest/misleading leadership
- Trend chasing
To be specific, Peerspace's performance is market sensitive. The early pandemic was bad for them, as were recent years. As such, they've had to cut staff abruptly several times. This is unfortunate, but not surprising for a startup. What made this egregious in my time with them was their communication. Leadership communicated that they had, "no intentions of laying off core staff members." This intention changed very quickly when they continued to not see the growth they needed over the next few months. To our dismay, core staff was laid off anyways.
This misleading communication to staff is bad, but overall would leave me with a positive experience. However, when considered in addition to their business decisions internally, I do not feel comfortable giving them more than two stars.
