Within a year, I went from figuring out the basics to genuinely contributing to the work. What I appreciated most was that once I proved myself, I was treated as a peer, not just a junior hire. The org rewards initiative and doesn't box you in by your job title. If you're willing to put in the work, there's real space to evolve fast.

The early months were tough. Without a traditional background, building credibility took time and deliberate effort. The org does hand-hold you for the initial phase but if you come in without domain experience, expect to earn your seat at the table rather than be given one.

Supportive work culture with opportunities to learn, take ownership, and contribute meaningfully to education and gender and inclusion projects. Collaborative teams and encouraging leadership make it a rewarding workplace.

You may need to budget for cat treats. One of the MP team's unofficial feline colleagues is a much-loved part of the organization and has successfully won over almost everyone. Resistance is usually futile! Being a cat lover is definitely an added advantage.
