Pros
The only pro was they were very generous with the technology and the compensation.
Cons
I accepted a role with this company based on the compensation and what seemed like a promising opportunity. Unfortunately, it quickly became clear that the organization was deeply unstructured and lacked basic support systems. There was no onboarding process, no formal training, and no clear direction. My main point of contact—the Product Owner—regularly canceled meetings, didn’t include me in relevant discussions, and offered no guidance when I asked for help. When I requested training from another department, I was initially offered a three-week plan. Within hours, that was cut down to three one-hour sessions. During the final session, I was recorded while struggling through unfamiliar material—at the request of my manager. Rather than providing feedback or support, I was abruptly let go during a short call following this “training,” with no prior discussion of performance concerns. The workplace culture felt cliquish and unprofessional. Many of the leadership team had previously worked together at Republic Bank, creating a closed-off environment. There was no dedicated HR; all HR matters were handled by legal counsel—also from Republic Bank. The team members I worked with regularly spoke negatively about others and joked about previous employees who had been terminated. I left a stable role of four years for this opportunity, thinking it would be a step forward. Instead, it was the most toxic and disappointing experience of my career. I strongly advise anyone considering a role with this company to proceed with caution.
