Pros

Animal Care, Coworkers are nice I did not mind the actual job. The cleaning, animal care, etc. was never a problem. I quite liked the dogs and the clients at PAP/RDU Pet Resort. I did like the coworkers as well, and a few of the managers truly wanted the best.

Cons

Always Short Staffed, Little to No Training, Rude/Toxic Management The turnover rate seemed extremely high. I thought this was simply the nature of a physical job, but I now believe it is due to poor management. Many of the managers are rude and condescending, they will not properly train you and then get angry at your mistakes. Also if one of the managers does not personally like you, you will have a very hard time working here. I do not recommend this place for anyone that is trans either, there seems to be issues with the way a trans person could be treated here. Overall I do not recommend working at RDU Pet Resort, however the connected vet (Paws at Play) is very nice.

Pros

All in all, a great place to work. Very flexible with scheduling. Pay was better than I expected and I made a life long friend. I’m still even in touch with clients that went there. It was always awesome working with such a diverse group of people as well.

Cons

I can’t think of anything.

Pros

If you love animals and thrive in a fast-paced environment, Paws at Play is an incredible place to work. Every day brings something new, and the energy is both exciting and fulfilling. The team truly feels like a family everyone is kind, supportive, and works together to create the best experience for the pets and each other. The owner is not only kind and approachable, but also deeply passionate about animal care and the well-being of her team. It’s clear she genuinely cares and puts her heart into everything she does. One thing that sets Paws at Play apart from other daycare and boarding facilities is the company’s commitment to training. The investment in ongoing, hands-on training for staff is unmatched and ensures you feel confident and prepared in your role. Staff appreciation is a real priority here with recognition given often, and the break room is always stocked with snacks (which is a huge morale booster during busy days!). It’s a place where your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and where you can grow your skills while doing what you love. I highly recommend Paws at Play to anyone looking for a meaningful, energetic, and supportive workplace in the pet care industry.

Cons

Days can move quickly and be physically demanding, which is great if you like staying active, but might be challenging for someone looking for a slower pace.
