Pros

Training was at an amazing pace. The support and transparency from my supervisor and the organization made me feel welcomed and prepared. I love that they call sick days wellness days.

Cons

I genuinely feel there were no cons. The work environment, culture, employees, and upper management were very big on communication and work life balance.

Pros

Competitive salaries, does give a lot of room for personalized career growth, and just a true emphasis on making sure staff feel safe and supported. It is an organization that lets you be yourself. The work can be hard regardless, but Pathways did everything they could to make me feel supported.

Cons

The nature of working in homelessness can be frustrating and disheartening, but it has little to do with Pathways as an organization. It is more so just the nature of the beast that is homeless services.

Pros

They are now located across the street from the McDonalds, so if you are stressed because your supervisor is not listening to you or your client get a nice milkshake!

Cons

Pathways to Housing DC has received feedback from some staff members about challenges in the workplace environment, including concerns regarding the handling of sexual harassment incidents involving male clients. Some case managers have reported that their concerns were not always addressed in a timely or effective manner by leadership, leading to feelings of insecurity and lack of support. There have also been reports of clients not using financial assistance for utilities as intended, adding complexity to the situation. While the organization’s mission to support individuals experiencing homelessness is vital, addressing these concerns is essential to creating a healthier and more supportive environment for staff, which in turn helps to improve service delivery to clients.
