Pros
The feeling of no longer having to work for Party Ingredients is quite special. Some of the manager/staff are a pleasure to work with. There can be a strong feeling of team work with the right people.
Cons
Unpleasant culture. Expect to be treated disrespectfully by the owners and senior chefs. The docile nature of the job is very conducive to a toxic culture. It is run by snobs and people who view servility as a congenial act. They have a tendency to resent the fresher faced workers who they view as incompetent and undeserving imps. The experience you have working here is largely dependent on the manager appointed. Some are excellent and can handle the job brilliantly. However, there are a couple of event managers who cannot handle it. Fortunately, you shouldn't expect any discrimination, I have witnessed a manager be as rude to the customers attending his event as he was to his staff. Expect a lot of chaos and abuse with some the less able managers. They will vent their frustration through you.
