I've seen many people suddenly disappearing, crying, being psychologically and physically harmed (getting more and more sick, having panic attacks, etc.), being bullied and humiliated... All the ingredients are there: abusive and manipulative managers, no transparency and information distorted, constant high stress (for no good reason), disrespect for work-like balance, favoritism, open criticism, fear-based culture...
