Pros

The benefits are really good here and most departments are on a hybrid schedule which is really helpful with work/life balance, traffic and gas. There use to be free food, holiday parties and events but all of that slowed with budget costs. Its also nice to say you work for Paramount for what its worth or not these days. Employees also receive free P+.

Cons

Paramount has a whole has been a sinking ship for a while. You would think they would bring in people to help turn things around as its clear the present leadership is incapable but instead bad decisions are followed by even more bad decisions which continuously leads to hemorrhaging funds and ultimately budget cuts, hiring freezes and tackless layoffs. In all of my time(not long) here there were so many unnecessary and ill coordinated changes from email domains to HR. It seemed like no one had enough sense to envision what the company should be, make a plan, and coordinate efforts. It gets to a certain point where the circumstances in which Paramount leaders find themselves in is 100% predictable and equally avoidable. The crazy part is everyone sees it coming but them. As for my department, a lot my issues matched the company overall. Poor management. I came in with a lot of experience and that could have been used to improve processes. A confident leader would have known to tap in and utilize what I brought to the table to make the department better. I dont know it all but I feel there were a lot of things that could be done so much better but insecurities and old mentalities prevented growth. I outperformed, created new processes and even had a lot of my ideas stolen from me and yet I was passed up for a promotion because someone had been here longer than me. I have also witnessed my manager flat out lie, allow another a team member to silently quit and manipulate things to cover up their own laziness and deceit. When I spoke up I was mocked, belittled and retaliated against. Ultimately I am leaving and taking the my wealth of knowledge, ideas and diligence with me and will gladly be giving it to another company who is wise enough to appreciate it. This is consequence of hiring leaders who look the part but don't fit the bill. Also locations outside of LA are not treated the same. There are so many events and benefits offered to certain locations and smaller offices are barely offered anything in the equivalent if anything at all. My office in particular was barely acknowledged and treated like a red headed step child. I have witnessed other divisions being treated the same way. So much for One Paramount! Definitely not a morale booster but this is the same company that lays people off to turn around and then brags about super bowl numbers, changes insurance policies to cut cost, and let you sit on pen and needles every month wondering when the next lay off is going to be. HR is a joke and practically not existent. I dont even think they are a benefit to the actual business and certainly not the humans that work in it. Im grateful for my time at Paramount but I'm happy to be leaving.

Pros

People who were at Paramount before the Skydance merger remain talented and amazing people.

Cons

The post-Skydance merger Paramount is an aimless corporate with zero resources, and respect for existing employees. Senior management are coming from Disney, and they’re hiring all their previous Disney colleagues, while laying off employees that have been at Paramount through ages. There has also been a shift in demographics where White men control the power. It’s disheartening to see amazing legacy leadership get demoted and sidelined in favor of incoming White male leaders from Disney. The new senior management will say things like, “We want to invest in people that will stay with us and grow,” yet layoff an entire division that have kept this company running through all the transitions. The disrespect is just ridiculous.
