Pros

Recently I resigned my position as a recruiter with Parallel HR due to the loss of a love one and realizing I needed to put “me” first in all areas of my life! 2015 has been a difficult year for me personally; but what really mattered was the support I received from upper management, down to the newest recruiter. I will always Love the people I worked with at Parallel HR, from CEO-Michael Dash, my Manager-David Derby and HR-Brittany Davies along with everyone else. We all know when searching for a job it’s tempting to look at online reviews right away and while glowing reviews may encourage you to look closer at a company, bad ones can hinder your interest, but please maintain perspective and keep in mind that an unsatisfied employee is more likely to actively look for a place to vent his frustrations about his company than a happy employee looking to sing its praises. For that reason, I recommend you hold off on reading reviews until you interview. Once you interview, your overall opinion of the company should come from your interaction with those you meet with and your enthusiasm for the position.

Cons

If recruiting is the career opportunity you’ve been searching for Parallel HR is a great company to work for. Just be aware that being a recruiter is not for the faint of heart, you’ll need to be focused, dedicated, put in the time, believe in yourself, and subsequently you will have a enjoyable & lucrative career with Parallel HR!

Pros

I worked as a contractor for Michael Dash and the team at Parallel between Q2 2016 and Q4 2017. During that time, I found them to be prompt, detailed, and kind. Though my day-to-day interactions were generally limited, when I did run into a specific clerical error (on my part), the team was incredibly helpful and gracious. When I converted to full time, senior position with the client account, the transition was made incredibly easy. What more can one ask of a contracting agency? I would extend my genuine appreciation for the straightforward manner by which our relationship was handled during that time. It was just a real pleasure working with Michael and the staff at Parallel - I would be very happy to be represented by them again in the future.

Pros

Hands-off approach to recruiting. Many firms have very specific "call times" or measuring minutes, kill all social media, etc. ParallelHR is mostly hands-off with these things.

Cons

Very poor leadership structure. Their is no HR or employee relations. The work environment is pretty hostile with the founders / partners being unresponsive to complaints. For a sales position (which is what recruiting is), the place is mostly dead quiet with little to no interaction. The compensation structure versus other firms is between 2x to 4x lower then other permanent placement staffing firms (this means thousands of dollars in commission difference. ParallelHR starts you at 5% of revenues. Research average compensation in recruiting as it is nearly impossible with the business structure of ParallelHR to even come close to $60,000 in total compensation. The company was beginning to outsource its recruiting efforts, opening up an Indian office. Training consists of 1-2 hours on a CRM system and a few phone calls. Ongoing training and knowledge sharing was starting to get better. Their is no growth opportunity within the firm. This is a big selling point to new employees. You cannot grow a business when you churn through 50% of the workforce every year. As far as the positive review, "You eat what you kill" is a term used by the partner Megan McMillan so be wary of the company. Their is no reason to not seek out alternate Permanent Placement firms..
