Pros
The plant that I worked for people were genuinely friendly, patient, and very willing to work with you to figure out or solve an issue with the exception of a few that either acted snotty and/or liked to gossip. Unfortunately, that's every company. I worked an 8 hour shift Monday through Friday and the hours were very good. The only people really complaining about not having a work/life balance are those working in the plant. Yes, you will work 12 hour shifts plus O.T. if they need you to if you are a worker in the plant. Not all plant workers worked a 12 hour shift some did have a regular 8 hour M-F position. It depended on the position. Overall, the people were friendly and patient and my hours were good. This is going to contradict with the cons but I do believe they want their employees to succeed.
Cons
I wish I could say there were not any cons but I decided to leave because I couldn't deal with it anymore. I was not happy in anyway with this place. The plant I was at people were leaving left and right. It was a revolving door. My first week there I had a dead cricket under my desk. The following day I got there I noticed something fell from the ceiling in front of my doorway and it was a huge centipede(never seen one that big). I almost flipped my lid at that point. The training was mediocre at best and I think I am being nice when I say that. I was pretty much thrown to the wolves and left to try to figure out the set up of everything. It was a red flag for me when both plant workers and admin tell you on the first day how much they hate their job and want to leave. This is coming from employees who have been there for 20+ years to less than 1 year! Nobody seemed happy. Morale was low. The woman who trained me was so excited to leave and told me good luck and laughed the last day. When you have employees tell you to get out while you can that's not good. I not once heard an employee say they were satisfied with their work or the company itself. I am a firm believer that with every joke there's some truth to it. As I mentioned above, I firmly believe the company wants to see their employees succeed but they don't know how to provide the resources they need to succeed. Management is a whole other story. Some of the managers don't have a clue (Others are excellent and are very knowledgeable). If I had a dollar for every time I got told, "I don't know" or "I don't know how to do that". I'm beginning to think as long as you are able to breathe, walk, and talk they'll hire you.
